Tragic Highway 401 Crash Leaves One Dead and Three Injured
Early morning chaos unfolded on Highway 401 in Etobicoke as a collision claimed the life of one individual and left three others injured. The incident, which took place on eastbound Highway 401 near Dixon Road around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, involved a passenger vehicle and a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) truck.
According to provincial police, the collision resulted in a fatal outcome for one individual who was ejected from the passenger vehicle. Alongside the tragic loss, two young men in their 20s from the same vehicle and a woman from the MTO truck were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, though thankfully not life-threatening.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 19-year-old resident of Vaughan, now faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm and dangerous operation causing death in connection to the crash.
Authorities suspect that the collision may have been a consequence of other vehicles potentially racing before the tragic event occurred. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues its investigation and urges any witnesses to step forward and provide any information they may have regarding the incident.
