Four individuals have been charged in connection with a kidnapping and home invasion incident that took place in Markham, according to the York Regional Police.
The incident occurred on September 1st, when a 29-year-old woman was driving in Markham around 8 a.m. and was intentionally hit by a vehicle. Subsequently, she was forced into another vehicle by individuals in an older model brown or gray van that pulled up next to her.
Later on, five suspects went to the victim’s home on Ashgrove Road and Hepburn Street at around 9 a.m. and shot a 54-year-old man inside, who sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover after being taken to the hospital.

The kidnapped woman was later found in Toronto and her vehicle was recovered nearby.
Charges have been laid against two youths aged 16 and 17, as well as two adults aged 20 and 21, in connection with the kidnapping and home invasion. It was revealed that the 16-year-old youth was already subject to a release order at the time of the incident.
