“Man Overboard: Urgent Search Underway Following Incident on Tsawwassen Ferry”

A person was rescued by BC Ferries crew near Tsawwassen terminal after going overboard from the Spirit of Vancouver Island. The incident took place shortly after the ship’s departure for its Swartz Bay sailing at 1 p.m. The Queen of New Westminster also assisted in the rescue operation.

After being retrieved by BC Ferries crews, the individual was safely returned to the Tsawwassen terminal. Following the rescue, BC Emergency Health Services transported the person to the hospital in stable condition.

The Spirit of Vancouver Island has now resumed its scheduled sailing to Swartz Bay, with BC Ferries anticipating a one-hour delay in arrival time.
