Quebec City Set to Shine on Global Stage with Women’s World Hockey Championship in 2027, World Juniors in 2029

Quebec City has been chosen as the venue for the 2027 Women’s World Hockey Championship and will also co-host the 2029 World Junior Hockey Championship with Trois-Rivières, Que.

Hockey Canada has announced that Trois-Rivières will share hosting duties with Quebec City for the annual holiday-season junior hockey tournament. Meanwhile, the women’s world championship will exclusively take place in Quebec City, with most games scheduled at the impressive 18,000-seat Videotron Centre.

This upcoming event will mark Quebec City’s debut as the host of the women’s world championship, with the last Canadian edition being held in 2023 in Brampton, Ont.

The host city for the 2026 tournament is set to be revealed at the IIHF semi-annual congress on October 3-4. Quebec City previously co-hosted the world juniors in 1978 alongside Montreal.

Looking ahead, the 2026 tournament is slated for Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minn., followed by the 2027 edition in Alberta (specific cities yet to be named), and then on to Finland in 2028.
