Firefighters Battle Fierce Blaze at Popular Vancouver Pizzeria

Fire Contained at Vancouver Pizza Restaurant on Commercial Drive

Vancouver fire crews successfully contained a fire that erupted at a popular pizza restaurant on Commercial Drive early Thursday morning. According to Cpt. Matt Trudeau from Vancouver Fire Rescue Service (VFRS), the fire was first noticed by fire investigators passing by the Pizza Garden store near Napier Street while returning from another fire incident.

Fortunately, the building housed residential units above the restaurant, but all occupants were safely evacuated, and there have been no reported injuries. Trudeau reassured the public that the situation appears to be under control, with efforts focused on ensuring the fire did not spread further within the adjacent properties.

As of 10:45 a.m., VFRS officially declared the fire ‘extinguished’ in a post on social media. However, Commercial Drive remains temporarily closed between Napier and Parker streets to allow emergency crews to carry out necessary operations.
