Valérie Fortier, a passionate dairy farmer and president of Agricultrices du Québec, and Jean-Pier Godin have been identified as the victims of a recent plane crash in La Tuque. The crash occurred in an isolated forest near Highway 457, close to the Casey airfield, on Sunday evening.
Fortier, a respected figure in promoting women in agriculture, was described by the organization as a remarkable woman who was not only a mother and an entrepreneur, but also an inspiring individual with a contagious passion for her work.
Quebec provincial police are investigating the crash, with the Transportation Safety Board also looking into the incident. The coroner’s office, responsible for confirming the victims’ identities, will be examining the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
