Shots Ring Out in Hochelaga: Panic as Bullets Strike Residential Building

Gunfire Erupts at Montreal Apartment Building, No Injuries Reported

In a startling incident on Thursday evening, shots rang out at an apartment building in Montreal while residents were present inside. Luckily, no injuries were reported, but the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) is actively investigating the incident.

The shooting occurred approximately at 10 p.m. on Bourbonnière Avenue, close to La Fontaine Street in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough. Initial reports suggest that one or more suspects fired at the building before fleeing the area.

Evidence of the shooting was discovered on the glass door of a residence, indicating the intensity of the incident. SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils confirmed that individuals were inside the apartment during the shooting, emphasizing the fortunate absence of injuries.

Following the incident, Montreal police promptly initiated an investigation, deploying the canine unit to scour for clues at the scene while also interviewing witnesses to gather information. Despite their efforts, as of Friday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
