The Vancouver Police have apprehended a man in his twenties for an unsettling incident in downtown Vancouver on Friday morning. According to reports, a 31-year-old woman was walking near West Pender and Beatty Street around 6 a.m. when she encountered a naked man atop a parked car.
Despite trying to distance herself, the man started shouting at her, then aggressively approached her, pushing her to the ground before proceeding to urinate on her. Prompt action from bystanders, who called 911 and restrained the man until police arrived, led to his arrest.
The suspect, now in custody, has been taken to a hospital for evaluation under the Mental Health Act. Constable Tania Visintin highlighted the emotional toll on the victim, emphasizing that the trauma of the incident will linger long after the physical injuries.
This disturbing event has shocked the community, with Visintin confirming that the man is facing assault charges, and additional charges may follow as the investigation progresses.
