“Scarborough-Rouge Park Gears Up for Decisive Ward 25 By-election This Month!”

Ward 25 in Scarborough-Rouge Park is abuzz with excitement as the by-election campaign kicks off to fill the seat left vacant by former Councillor Jennifer McKelvie.

Mark your calendars for the election day on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, when polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you can’t make it on the big day, fret not! You have the option to cast your vote at advance polling stations on Sept. 20 and 21, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

For those who chose to vote by mail, the deadline to apply was Sept. 4 at 4:30 p.m. Toronto Elections will be sending out voting packages starting Sept. 8, which must be returned by noon on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The mail-in voting packages will contain all the necessary materials and instructions for a smooth voting process. You can either send them back via Canada Post or drop them off at one of the two secure mail-in voting drop boxes located in Ward 25, available from Sept. 15 until noon on Sept. 23.

Officials have advised applicants to keep track of their vote by mail package using the provided confirmation code. Contingency plans are also in place in case of any disruptions in Canada Post services.

A total of 20 candidates have been certified to run in this exciting by-election. The victorious candidate will take over from Jennifer McKelvie, who recently stepped down after being elected as the Liberal MP for Ajax.
