A tragic incident unfolded in the High Park area, leading to the arrest of a man on murder charges in connection with the death of a young woman.
Police responded to a distress call at Glenlake and High Park Avenues just before 6 p.m. on Friday, where they found an injured woman inside a vehicle. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the woman, identified as 21-year-old Serenity Brown of Toronto, was later pronounced dead.
Duty Insp. Errol Watson has revealed that the suspect, Trinel Thornhill, 48, of Toronto, has been apprehended and charged with second-degree murder. Thornhill is set to appear in court on Tuesday following the tragic incident. The police have confirmed that the suspect and the victim were acquainted.
