“Pablo Rodriguez Gears Up for Potential Surprise Elections in Quebec, Prepares for ‘All Scenarios'”

Liberal leader Pablo Rodriguez is setting “ambitious” recruitment goals, aiming for 50% of candidates by December in preparation for potential early elections. Rodriguez emphasized the need to be ready for any scenario, including if Quebec Premier François Legault decides to call an early election.

Expressing his lack of trust in Legault, Rodriguez stated, “I suspect him of everything,” during a recent party caucus. Despite leading in a recent poll, the Parti Québécois, the Liberals are actively gearing up for the upcoming election.

Rodriguez hinted at possibly recruiting former CAQ member Pierre Dufour as a candidate, praising his courage in representing his region. The Liberal leader expressed confidence in an increasing number of individuals showing interest in becoming candidates for the Quebec Liberal Party.

In a proactive move, Rodriguez announced the establishment of an “SME Squad” led by MNAs Filomena Rotiroti and Frédéric Beauchemin. This squad aims to engage with entrepreneurs, address their concerns, and propose solutions to support small and medium-sized businesses.
