“Second Suspect Seized in Brazen Daylight High School Shooting that Wounded Two”

A violent incident near a high school in the city’s west end has led to charges against two teenagers. The shooting occurred on September 3 around midday in front of York Memorial Collegiate Institute, resulting in two individuals being injured.

A 31-year-old woman passing through the area was hit by gunfire, alongside a 17-year-old boy who also sustained a gunshot wound. Both victims were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Initially thought to be a victim, the 17-year-old male was later charged with nine offenses, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and firearm-related charges. Subsequently, on September 9, another teenager was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and firearms offenses.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the two teens involved in the incident cannot be disclosed.
