Police in York Region are on the lookout for four suspects after a dramatic early morning home intrusion in Vaughan.
Surveillance footage captured the harrowing moment when the suspects forcefully entered a home using an axe and a baton in the Timber Creek Boulevard and Major Mackenzie Drive West vicinity around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Fortunately, the culprits left empty-handed and sped away in a black SUV before the authorities arrived.
Thankfully, no one sustained any physical harm during the intrusion.
The first suspect, a male, was dressed in a black hoodie, black pants, white shoes, and a black mask while carrying an axe. The second suspect, also male, wore a similar outfit but added black and white gloves. The third suspect, yet another male, sported a grey and navy hoodie, navy pants with white stripes, a white mask, black gloves, and white shoes. Lastly, the fourth suspect, a male as well, donned a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and white gloves, wielding an expandable baton.
This unsettling occurrence follows closely after two separate home break-ins in the Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 27 region, tragically resulting in the death of Abdul Aleem Farooqi, aged 46. It remains uncertain if these incidents are linked.
