Montreal Police Seek Help to Identify More Victims in Sexual Assault Investigation

Montreal authorities are urging potential additional victims to come forward in connection to the arrest of 54-year-old Mark Pomeranz on suspicion of sexual assault. Police suspect there may be more victims, particularly within the Indigenous community, and are appealing for witnesses to provide information to assist in the investigation.

According to the police press release, there is a belief that Pomeranz may have targeted other individuals beyond the reported case that occurred in Dorval on August 8, where a woman was sexually assaulted after accepting a ride from him. The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, made threats, and then left the scene.

Described as 5’5” tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes, Pomeranz is said to speak English. Authorities have released a photo of him and his vehicle, identified by the license plate AMB 68M, in the hope that it may help identify any other potential victims.

Individuals who believe they may have been targeted by Pomeranz or have witnessed any related incidents are encouraged to reach out to investigators at 514-799-7225, contact emergency services, or visit their local police station to file a report. Additionally, those seeking support to come forward can contact Indigenous community organizations or seek assistance from social workers.

To provide information anonymously, individuals can contact Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133 or use the report form available on infocrimemontreal.ca.
