“Community on Alert: ‘High Risk’ Offender At Large After Tampering with Monitoring Device”

Authorities in Hamilton are on the hunt for a man deemed a significant risk to public safety after he violated a court-mandated release order.

Reports indicate that Jonathan Shane Beaver, the individual in question, allegedly tampered with his GPS ankle monitor shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday, prompting concerns among law enforcement officials.

Beaver had been placed under the release order as a result of his involvement in a series of charges stemming from a January 29, 2025, incident in York Region. The charges against him include break and enter, disguise with intent, and various firearms-related offenses.

Law enforcement officials have revealed that Beaver had already breached his curfew and location restrictions prior to removing his monitoring device. Consequently, he now faces additional charges for non-compliance with the terms of his release.

The last known whereabouts of Beaver were reported to be in the vicinity of Hatt Street and Sydenham Drive in Dundas, Ont. Besides Dundas, he has connections to Hamilton, Brantford, Waterloo, York, and Niagara regions.

Authorities have emphasized that Beaver poses a significant risk to public safety. Individuals who may come across him are urged not to engage but to alert law enforcement immediately.
