A tragic incident unfolded in Delta on Sunday afternoon as a woman lost her life following a serious collision, according to authorities.
The Delta Police Department responded to a distress call reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 116th Street and 77A Avenue just before 12:30 p.m.
Despite the valiant efforts of emergency responders from the Delta Fire Department and BC Paramedics, a 69-year-old female passenger succumbed to her injuries caused by the collision, as confirmed by the Delta Police Department.
Authorities have ruled out impairment as a contributing factor in the crash.
In light of the incident, police have announced the closure of 116th Street between 75A and 80th avenues for several hours to conduct investigations.
