Over 90 Firefighters Battle Fierce Blaze in Montreal’s NDG Neighborhood

On a bustling Sunday afternoon in Montreal’s NDG neighborhood, a team of over 90 courageous firefighters continued to battle a persistent fire that ignited earlier that morning.

The Montreal fire department (SIM) swiftly responded to the emergency at approximately 9:05 a.m. The fire broke out in a three-storey residential building located on Elmhurst Ave, close to Harley Ave. Thankfully, the structure was unoccupied and devoid of gas or electricity at the time.

As the situation intensified, a third alarm was sounded by the SIM shortly after 10 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., more than 90 firefighters were actively engaged in combating the flames.

By 5:30 p.m., the SIM confirmed to CityNews that the firefighting operation was still in progress. To ensure the safety of the surrounding area, the neighboring building was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported throughout this intense ordeal.
