Dramatic Footage Released: Drive-By Shooting Targets Vaughan Home

York Regional Police have released dramatic surveillance footage capturing the moments before a gunman unleashed gunfire on a residential property in Vaughan during the early hours of Monday.

The incident took place around 12:15 a.m. on September 15, near Ravendale Gate and Stegman’s Mill Road.

In the video, a dark-colored SUV pulls up in front of a house, with a suspect clad in all black emerging from the passenger side. The individual is seen brandishing a firearm, firing several shots towards the home, and swiftly returning to the vehicle.

The SUV, driven by a second unidentified suspect, hastily flees the scene after the shooting.

While no injuries were reported, the audacious attack in a typically quiet neighborhood has raised serious concerns among authorities.

“We are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has video surveillance footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward,” stated the police in a release.

Those who have information pertinent to the investigation are encouraged to reach out to the authorities.

This recent Monday assault adds to a troubling pattern of shooting incidents targeting residences in Vaughan over the past few weeks.

Just last week on September 10, York Regional Police apprehended a suspect after shots were fired outside a home near Lady Angela Lane, close to Teston Road and Bathurst Street.

Police officers, responding to the gunfire heard around 2:30 a.m., swiftly caught a man who tried to flee. A firearm was seized at the scene. The occupants of the targeted home had recently moved in, with additional officers in the vicinity due to previous shooting incidents, according to CityNews.

During the prior weekend of September 6–7, three separate homes in Vaughan were struck in what authorities suspect are linked events. Gunfire damaged properties and vehicles on Farrell Road, Pottery Place, and Allison Ann Way. In each instance, a dark-colored sedan was spotted speeding away from the locations.
