A massage parlor in Montreal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area fell victim to an arson attack on a recent Thursday evening.
Authorities from the Montreal police (SPVM) were alerted to the incident via 911 calls at approximately 10:20 p.m. The fire was reported at a building located on Sainte-Catherine Street East, close to Davidson Street.
SPVM media relations officer Jeanne Drouin shared, “Witnesses observed a suspect who allegedly threw an incendiary object at the building. The suspect fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.”
Fortunately, the occupants of the establishment were safely evacuated, and there were no reported injuries.
As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody, as mentioned by Drouin.
The investigation into this incident has been handed over to the SPVM’s arson squad.
