Surrey Police Service Investigating Shooting Incident at Local Business
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is currently conducting an investigation following a shooting that occurred at a business in the northwest area of the city on Friday morning.
According to police reports, the incident took place close to the intersection of 108th Avenue and 125th Street around 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered multiple bullet holes at the rear of the business.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time, as stated by Sgt. Tige Pollock in an interview with 1130 NewsRadio. Investigators are working to determine if the shooting may be linked to extortion, although no conclusive evidence has been found yet.
Sgt. Pollock emphasized the gravity of the situation, expressing concerns over the reckless discharge of firearms, stating, “It’s alarming to police when someone fires a weapon without regard for others’ safety.”
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries resulting from the incident.
