Breaking News: Police Set to Unveil New Details on Tragic Scarborough Shooting of Young Man

Toronto authorities will update the public on the investigation surrounding the tragic shooting of a 23-year-old man in Scarborough last week. Detective Sergeant Phillip Campbell from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m.

The victim, Shakur Clarke-Sargeant, was fatally shot on the night of September 15 at an apartment complex near Kingston and Galloway roads. Responding to reports of gunfire around 10:30 p.m., officers discovered Clarke-Sargeant with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead on-site.

Clarke-Sargeant, known for his “rap persona” in Toronto, was specifically targeted in a meticulously planned shooting, as per police statements.

This incident marked Toronto’s 32nd homicide this year. Jeavon Quashie, a 21-year-old individual from Toronto, was apprehended at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. Another male suspect involved in the shooting remains at large.

Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to cooperate with the police.
