The Quebec Coroner’s Office has initiated a public inquiry to investigate three recent deaths in the construction sector.
The inquiry will hone in on the tragic passing of three individuals: Médrik Lincourt on August 4 in Terrebonne, Mario Ross on April 4 in Drummondville, and Vito Fundaro on June 19, 2024, in Montreal.
Coroner Andrée Kronström is leading the investigation to uncover the circumstances and reasons behind these fatalities. Furthermore, she aims to spark a broader discussion on the safety practices prevalent in the industry. The Coroner’s Office has affirmed that if needed, recommendations will be put forth to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The exact dates for the hearings have not been disclosed yet.
The construction field is recognized for being at high risk for workplace accidents, including both fatal incidents and occupational harm.
