Over 12,000 British Columbia Public Employees Escalate Strike Action, Union Confirms

The BC General Employees’ Union in B.C. is expanding its strike with more public sector workers walking off the job at various locations including Victoria, Penticton, Cranbrook, Coquitlam, and Kamloops. The strike extends to key departments such as Health, Public Safety, Children and Family Development, and Transportation.

Furthermore, workers at BC Liquor and Cannabis warehouses and head office have also joined the strike, raising the total number of participants to 12,500 across 33 active picket lines. The union plans to intensify their actions throughout the week.
