Toronto police, with the assistance of their air support unit and Police Dog Services, successfully apprehended a man involved in a mischief case following a theft incident.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of September 15 at the intersection of Brimley and Danforth roads when officers responded to reports of an ongoing theft. The alleged suspect had been causing damage to vehicles in a residential area while trying to steal them. Despite attempts by residents to restrain him, the suspect managed to escape on foot.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology like drones and thermal imaging, the police aerial unit located the suspect concealed in a backyard within the neighborhood. With the collaboration of on-ground officers and a police dog, the authorities were able to apprehend the individual.
Albert Redcliffe, aged 48 and without a fixed address, was charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation. He was expected to make a court appearance on the same day.
