An investigation has been launched by police on Montreal’s South Shore following death threats received by officers in the aftermath of a recent fatal shooting involving a teenager. This incident has raised concerns about the growing tensions between law enforcement and the local community.
The Longueuil police department responded to the threats on social media without directly referencing the shooting incident. They announced additional security measures to protect the officers involved.
According to their social media post, a Longueuil police officer is currently under protective measures due to online threats made against him and his family.

The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI), Quebec’s police oversight body, has initiated an investigation into the shooting. They have confirmed that the only firearm found at the scene belonged to the police. The BEI has assigned five investigators to the case, with support from the Montreal Police (SPVM).
