Authorities Probe Alleged Car Arson in DDO: Suspect Search Intensifies

Authorities in Montreal are currently investigating an incident where a vehicle was deliberately set on fire in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux neighborhood on Friday evening.

According to reports, the fire ignited at approximately 10 p.m. in a car that was parked in front of a home on Papillon Street, close to Hyman Street. The Montreal Fire Department had already arrived at the location and managed to extinguish the flames before the police reached the scene.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection to the incident. However, the vehicle suffered irreparable damage, being deemed a total loss by officials.

Although no evidence of accelerants was discovered at the site, preliminary findings indicate that the fire was intentionally started.

The burnt vehicle was removed for further examination and analysis by investigators, who are also planning to scrutinize footage captured by surveillance cameras in the vicinity.
