Cyclist Clings to Life Following Décarie Blvd Tragedy; Road Sealed Off as Probe Unfolds

Early Thursday morning, Montreal Police (SPVM) closed the service road on Décarie Blvd north to investigate a serious collision involving a cyclist. The incident, reported around 4:15 a.m., occurred at the intersection of Paré Street and Décarie, where a vehicle collided with a cyclist, leaving the cyclist in critical condition.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the cyclist unconscious on the ground, as stated by SPVM media relations officer Véronique Dubuc to CityNews. The 53-year-old cyclist was swiftly taken to the hospital with head injuries, his condition deemed critical by authorities.

According to Dubuc, the vehicle was traveling north on Décarie when the collision took place at Paré Street. The circumstances regarding the cyclist’s direction remain unknown at this time. The driver involved in the incident is a 48-year-old man, as confirmed by the SPVM.

The investigation into the collision is currently ongoing, with authorities diligently working to understand the details surrounding this unfortunate incident.
