Police Probe Daring Carjacking Attempt on Highway 403 in Hamilton

Ontario authorities are currently looking into an incident of attempted carjacking that took place on Highway 403, where a driver was faced with an armed suspect wielding a chisel just last week.

The unsettling event occurred around 12:30 a.m. on September 15 on the westbound lanes of Highway 403 near Alberton Road in Hamilton.

Reportedly, the victim, driving through a dimly lit section of the highway, noticed a vehicle tailing them with its bright lights flashing. Thinking it was the police signaling for them to stop, the driver pulled over to the roadside.

A man, later identified as the suspect, approached the vehicle brandishing what seemed to be a chisel and demanded the victim to get out. Despite the suspect’s efforts to start the car, he was unsuccessful. Subsequently, he made a quick escape in his own vehicle.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male wearing a blue surgical mask and a baseball cap. Unfortunately, the victim was unable to provide specific details about the suspect’s vehicle.

Authorities are urging anyone who might have been in the vicinity during the incident to come forward with any information they may have.
