Montreal Roses’ Winning Streak Snapped by the Wild in 2-0 Shutout!

The Montreal Roses lost their top spot in the Northern Super League (SLN) rankings on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat against the Calgary Wild. Despite the setback, the Roses are assured a playoff berth, currently trailing the Ottawa Rapid by just one point with a game in hand.

Meggie Dougherty Howard and Jorian Baucom scored for the Wild, ending their five-game losing streak. The Roses, missing Charlotte Bilbault in the starting lineup, will look to bounce back in their upcoming clash against the Halifax Tides.

Goalkeeper Anna Karpenko returned to the net after sitting out the previous match, but her efforts weren’t enough to prevent the Roses from conceding their first goal in four games.

Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, the Roses couldn’t find the back of the net. The game ended with the Wild securing a vital victory to keep their playoff hopes alive.
