Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating an arson on a downtown business that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called at around 3:15 a.m. to a fire in a commercial building on De Maisonneuve Blvd. near Crescent Street in the Ville-Marie borough.
When police arrived onsite, the Montreal Fire Department were already at the scene, controlling the situation.
“There was some incendiary element that were found on scene,” explained a SPVM media relations officer, Jean-Pierre Barbant. “Which gave us reason to believe that arson was committed.”
The investigation was transferred to the SPVM’s arson squad.
