Teen Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Stabbing Incident at Laval Movie Theater

Laval authorities have apprehended a 16-year-old individual in connection with a recent stabbing near a popular movie theater in the Chomedey neighborhood. The teenager now faces serious charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Following his arrest by the Crimes Against Persons squad, the suspect appeared in court and is currently being held in custody. The case will proceed to the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec in the upcoming weeks, as confirmed by the Laval police.

In a related incident, a 19-year-old was hospitalized after an armed assault outside Laval’s Colossus movie theatre on the evening of September 21. The police were alerted to the stabbing through a 911 call at 9:55 p.m.

Upon their arrival, the victim was found with severe stab wounds. Thankfully, his condition has since stabilized after receiving medical treatment. The perpetrator had fled the scene before emergency responders arrived.
