Durham authorities are on the lookout for a suspect following a shooting incident that occurred inside a residence in Oshawa on Wednesday evening after a heated argument.
The incident unfolded at a home near the intersection of Oxford Street and Wentworth Street West, prompting a swift response from law enforcement around 6:15 p.m. in response to reports of an individual armed with a gun.
According to investigators, the victim was confronted by the suspect within the confines of his own home, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated when the suspect discharged a firearm before making a hasty escape from the scene.
Sustaining only minor injuries, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, with law enforcement deeming the incident as an isolated occurrence.
Authorities have described the suspect as a Black male, aged around 20 to 21 years old, standing at approximately five feet eight inches tall with distinctive short dreadlocks.
In an effort to piece together the events that transpired, investigators are urging individuals in possession of cellphone, dash cam, or surveillance footage from the vicinity to step forward and assist in their search for the perpetrator.
