Dani Muzungu, a candidate for a new municipal party in Montreal, has been arrested and charged with assault in a domestic violence case, as per various media sources. The incident took place in the Snowdown district, where Muzungu was taken into custody on Wednesday at an apartment in Hamstead. Authorities responded to a call at the residence and discovered an injured woman, who was subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Muzungu faces a total of eight charges, including aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm through choking, suffocating, or strangling, and uttering threats. He is currently in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for Friday.
