Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Man and Child in Montérégie
A devastating incident unfolded last Friday in Beauharnois, Montérégie, as a heavy goods vehicle collided with a car, resulting in the loss of a man and a child.

The collision occurred in the afternoon at kilometer 28 on Highway 30, as reported by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Initial details from the SQ indicate that the heavy goods vehicle crashed into the back of the car, which held a driver and three passengers, including a six-year-old child.

Ève Brochu-Joubert, the SQ spokesperson, confirmed the tragic death of a male passenger in his 30s at the accident site.

Following the incident, the three other occupants of the car were rushed to the hospital, where the young child was regrettably pronounced dead, Brochu-Joubert shared.

Both occupants of the truck, which included a driver in his 30s, sustained injuries, but fortunately, their lives are not in jeopardy.

The SQ disclosed that an active investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made in connection with the tragedy.
