Longueuil Police (SPAL) are currently conducting an investigation following a heart-wrenching incident where a newborn baby was left abandoned on the doorstep of a residence in Montreal’s South Shore late on Sunday night.
Reportedly, an unknown individual rang the doorbell of a home on Bourgeoys Street at approximately 11 p.m. and left behind a 34-week-old baby boy at the entrance.
The occupants of the house immediately contacted emergency services, and both police officers and paramedics swiftly arrived at the scene to provide necessary care to the newborn. The baby was later taken to a hospital, where he is reported to be in good health, as stated by SPAL in a recent Facebook update.
Authorities have set up an active investigation to identify the person responsible for abandoning the infant, although their identity remains unknown at this time.
The SPAL emphasized that the situation is under thorough investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of the baby and to bring the responsible party to justice.
