Longueuil police are currently investigating a heart-wrenching incident where a newborn baby boy was left on the doorstep of a home in Montreal’s South Shore late Sunday. Authorities are diligently working to identify the baby’s parents and the individual responsible for abandoning him.

According to reports, the infant, who was born prematurely after about 34 weeks of pregnancy, still had his umbilical cord attached when he was discovered outside a residence on Bourgeoys Street around 11 p.m. The occupants of the home immediately contacted emergency services upon finding the baby.
