A restaurant chain in the Lower Mainland faced gunfire incidents twice in one day on Monday, marking the third shooting in just over a week. The Surrey Police Service (SPS) received reports of shots fired at an Ustaad G76 Indian restaurant on King George Boulevard in the early hours, followed by another incident at a different Ustaad G76 location in Newton later in the day.
Details of the Newton area shooting were scarce as police were kept busy responding to multiple shooting incidents across the city. Pictures from the scene displayed law enforcement officers inspecting bullet holes in the windows of the restaurant along 76 Avenue.
Earlier on September 27, a separate Ustaad G76 restaurant in Maple Ridge was also targeted by gunfire, with the Ridge Meadows RCMP responding to the incident. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in any of these shootings.
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to reach out to the respective police departments or anonymously report tips to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visit www.solvecrime.ca.
