Authorities have apprehended a 39-year-old man believed to be involved in an assault that occurred at a residence in Whitby during the summer months.
The incident took place on Aug. 29, specifically in the vicinity of Annes Street and Jermyn Street.
Upon responding to the scene, law enforcement discovered an adult male with severe injuries. The individual was swiftly taken to a trauma center in Toronto for medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition in the days that ensued after the alleged attack.
Initially, police were in pursuit of two suspects, with one of them identified as Tristan Kalijundic, a 39-year-old resident of Whitby. Kalijundic was taken into custody on Oct. 7 and is facing a single charge of aggravated assault.
Authorities are urging anyone who may possess information about the incident to reach out to them.
