Toronto police apprehended nine individuals during a protest in the heart of the city on Wednesday evening. The incident unfolded near University Avenue and Richmond Street West around 7:45 p.m., with demonstrators intentionally causing a disruption by blocking a significant intersection, causing traffic congestion.
According to law enforcement, when ordered to clear the road, a portion of the protesters declined to cooperate, leading to a standoff. The police mentioned in a press release that all those arrested actively impeded officers from carrying out their duties, resulting in their detention.
