“TTC Overhauls Bus Routes Ahead of Eglinton Crosstown LRT Launch!”

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is making preparations for the upcoming launch of the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) by adjusting existing bus routes and introducing new ones.

These changes are in anticipation of the Line 5 LRT, which will run from Mount Dennis to Kennedy Station, covering a distance of 19 kilometers and serving 25 stations. Currently, a “revenue service demonstration” is underway to ensure the system functions as intended and is ready for passenger use.

While the official opening date for the LRT line remains unknown, buses are now stopping at designated points near the closed stations to mimic the future service. This allows passengers to become familiar with the adjusted routes and connections.

Among the adjustments, existing routes such as the 32 Eglinton West and 34 Eglinton East will continue on their regular paths. Additionally, there will be two new bus routes introduced to complement the upcoming LRT service.
