Some pharmacies in Quebec are facing delays in receiving COVID-19 vaccine doses, according to the Quebec Association of Pharmacists (AQPP). The association warns that these delays may result in the rescheduling of appointments that have already been booked, stressing that pharmacies have no control over this situation.
AQPP issued a press release on Tuesday, just a day before the official launch of the influenza and COVID-19 vaccination campaign, acknowledging the temporary setback.
In their statement, AQPP reassured the public that they are working to resolve the delay swiftly. They expressed confidence that everyone interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine at a pharmacy will have the opportunity to do so and be prepared for any upcoming COVID-19 outbreaks.
The association urges the public to be patient and cooperative in light of the circumstances to help manage the situation effectively.
AQPP emphasizes that the distribution delay is outside the realm of pharmacy teams’ responsibilities, as they continue to be dedicated to delivering excellent care and safeguarding public health.
