Toronto police have recently arrested a 30-year-old man after an inquiry into online threats and hate-related activities. The investigation was initiated based on reports of threatening messages circulating online.
According to the Toronto Police Service (TPS), the accused individual is alleged to have made threats to harm a victim on September 30. Additionally, between September 29 and October 10, investigators claim that he issued various online threats targeting members of the transgender and Muslim communities.
Following the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the man’s residence in Scarborough on October 12.
The suspect has been identified as Abraham Lincoln Neranjan, a 30-year-old resident of Toronto, and has been charged with public incitement of hatred and three counts of uttering threats. He was expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
