Data Breach at Canada Computers Exposes Customer Information: What You Need to Know

Canada Computers Inc. has confirmed that a recent data breach has compromised the personal information of some of its customers. The technology retailer revealed that individuals who provided personal details and checked out as “guests” between December 29 and January 22 are among those affected.

The stolen personal information may include credit card details of customers who did not log into their Canada Computers member account while making purchases during the specified period. On January 22, Canada Computers discovered unauthorized access to a system supporting its retail website. The company promptly informed law enforcement and regulatory authorities and initiated a thorough investigation.

As the investigation continues, Canada Computers is taking steps to support impacted customers by offering two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services. Based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada Computers operates 39 stores nationwide.
