Transport Quebec says a couple more Montreal roads will be closed over the coming weekend.
Over the coming weekend, the interchange of Highway 13 and Highway 520 will see various closures to allow for the reconstruction of the Highway 520 (Côte-de-Liesse) overpass over Highway 13 (Chomedey).
The first closure will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, when Highway 520 between Exit No 4 — A-13 / Laval / Lachine / Montée de Liesse — and the entrance from Highway 13 North. This will last until 3 a.m. on Saturday; however, only one lane will open until 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, when the portion of road will close again until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 18.
Additionally, starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, northbound 23 Avenue will be closed between Louis-A. Amos and Côte-de-Liesse Road. This will be in place until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.
Between 2 a.m. on Saturday and 9 p.m. on Sunday, the ramp from Highway 13 to Highway 520 will also be closed.
Lastly, between 3 a.m. on Saturday and 8 p.m. on Sunday, the service road from eastbound Highway 520 between the entrance to Highway 13 North and the ramp from eastbound Highway 520 to Highway 13 North will be closed.
Transport Quebec also says that road work will be taking place in the Turcot interchange between May 14 and 19.
Route 136 is expected to be closed between exit 4 — Victoria Bridge, Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, de la Montagne Street — and Atateken Street starting at 11 p.m. on Friday and lasting until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 18.
Additional closures in the area are going to rotate and will only be in place overnight.
The first overnight closure will be from 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, with northbound Highway 15 between the ramp leading to Route 136 eastbound and westbound and the ramp coming from Route 136 westbound, before reopening at 5 a.m. on Friday. This will also include the ramp leading from Highway 20 eastbound to Highway 15 northbound, and the enterances from Saint-Jacques and Sherbrooke West streets which will close at 10 p.m.
During that time frame, one lane on the ramp leading from Highway 136 westbound to Highway 15 northbound will be open and one lane of Highway 15 northbound between the Turcot interchange and the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce tunnel will be open as of 11:30 p.m.
Starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, westbound Highway 20 will be closed between exit 65 — Route 138 East, Saint-Jacques Street, Angrignon Boulevard — and the entrance from Route 138 eastbound (Honoré-Mercier Bridge), until 9 a.m. on Saturday.
During this time, the ramp leading from Highway 20 westbound to Route 138 westbound, the westbound reserved lane the entrances from Angrignon and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue boulevards, and the ramp leading from Highway 15 northbound to Highway 20 westbound will be closed.
Between 11:59 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday, westbound Route 136 will be closed between Exit 5 — Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, Champlain Bridge, Victoria Bridge — and the Turcot interchange.
Additionally, the ramp leading from Highway 15 southbound to Route 136 eastbound and two out of four lanes of Route 136 eastbound between the Turcot interchange and exit 3 — Guy Street, downtown — will close at 11 p.m.
Then, on Sunday, May 17, at 11 p.m., southbound Highway 15 between the ramp leading to Route 136 eastbound and the entrance from De La Vérendrye Boulevard will be closed until 9 a.m. on Monday.
During this time frame, the entrance from Girouard Avenue, the ramp leading from Highway 15 southbound to Highway 20 westbound, the ramps leading from Highway 20 eastbound to Highway 15 southbound and northbound, and the ramp leading from Highway 136 westbound to Highway 15 southbound will also be closed.
Lastly between 11 p.m. on Monday and 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, three out of four lanes of northbound Highway 15 will be closed near the entrance from De La Vérendrye Boulevard, including the entrance from De La Vérendrye Boulevard, and eastbound Highway 20 between Exit 62 — 1 Avenue, St-Pierre Avenue, Dollard Avenue — and the entrance ramp from Route 138 eastbound (Honoré-Mercier Bridge) will be closed.
Road work may be delayed due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Transport Quebec recommends that all drivers check Québec 511 before hitting the roads.
