On Monday, at about 2:30 p.m., Maple Ridge RCMP responded to a call regarding a three-year-old child falling from a second storey window.
The incident happened on 236 Street, near 118 Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, BC Emergency Health Services had already started attending to the child, who had serious injuries.
The child was transported to hospital via air ambulance. He is currently in stable condition but with serious injuries.

Officers investigated by speaking with multiple people on scene, including the parents of the child, and the incident appears to be an accident.
No sign of foul play or criminality were identified.
RCMP state that this is a reminder to ensure that windows and doors are properly secured and child-proof and consider installing safety devices to prevent accidental falls.
