The Langley RCMP says it is investigating after human remains were found along a creek bed near the Nicomekl River.

Officers were called to the area of 53A Avenue and 206 Street shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday.

When they arrived, they found the remains and called in the BC Coroners Service, which confirmed the remains are human.

“Our investigators are working in close partnership with the BC Coroners Service to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.”

Mounties and the E-Division Underwater Recovery Team have been searching the river area for any evidence related to the investigation.
