Police say a 22-year-old man is in serious condition after being stabbed inside a Walmart in Montreal North on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities were called to the store on Henri-Bourassa Blvd., near Lacordaire Blvd., at around 4:30 p.m.
The victim was stabbed in the upper body during an altercation with a group that started inside the store, but the victim was found outside – according to SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron.
The young man was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
The suspects fled the scene and the motive for the attack is not yet known.
Investigators were on the scene to speak to witnesses and a security perimeter was established.
“We are looking at video surveillance if we can obtain images of the suspects and images of the incident itself,” explained Bergeron. “We’re also trying to obtain a full description of the suspects as well.”
