Toronto Covered in Haze as Wildfire Smoke Persists, Outdoor Activities Halted
The city of Toronto is enveloped in a hazy blanket as wildfire smoke lingers, prompting an orange air quality warning that has led to the closure of numerous outdoor amenities. City officials, concerned about the severity of the situation, have taken action due to Toronto being identified as one of the cities with the worst air quality globally.
In response to this alarming air quality event, outdoor and wading pools in the city have been shut down. Despite this, CampTO programs will continue to run, with outdoor activities being relocated indoors. However, all CampTO field trips are on hold until further notice.
Moreover, all other outdoor registered programs slated for Thursday are either canceled, rescheduled, or shifted to indoor venues. City-run child care centers will remain operational but will also move activities indoors to ensure the well-being of children and staff members.
