“Alberta Rocked by Tornado as Powerful Storm Charges Through Province”

A powerful storm system passed through south-central Alberta, causing at least one confirmed tornado touchdown.

The Northern Tornadoes Project has reported that a tornado touched down in Rocky Mountain House, located between Calgary and Edmonton. Initial reports indicate some damage, although verification is pending.

A team will be dispatched into the field on Sunday to assess the impact and gather more information about the storm’s aftermath.

Throughout Saturday, Alberta experienced severe thunderstorm warnings that persisted well into the evening hours. While Environment Canada notes the possibility of thunderstorms returning later on Sunday, no alerts or warnings have been issued as of now.
