A woman in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle near Mississauga Hospital, as reported by officials.
Peel Regional Police shared via social media early Sunday that the incident occurred at Hurontario Street and Queensway West. The pedestrian sustained severe, life-threatening injuries, according to a Peel Paramedics representative.
The driver involved in the collision did return to the site, as confirmed by authorities. Forensics investigators from Peel Regional Police were observed at the scene, collecting evidence and documenting the vehicle on Queensway West.
Traffic on a section of Queensway West near Confederation Parkway was temporarily halted by officers to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
